The Black Lives Matter movement gives us the opportunity to self-reflect and brings a much needed awareness to the current injustices happening within the Black and Brown communities. This reading list consists of #ownvoices titles, that is, books that are authored by BIPOC. These materials are important for children and teens of all backgrounds. They allow readers to hear black stories in their own words, and to begin to foster a sense of anti-racism. Featured on this list is Jason Reynolds, the Library of Congress's current National Ambassador for Young People's Literature.
