Introduction

Black History Month

February 2022

Black History Month is an annual celebration, each February, of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. It's a time to pay tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.  By reading some of the recommended titles on this list, we encourage you to heighten your awareness about prominent African Americans who made significant contributions throughout U.S. history or about pivotal events and movements that impacted their lives.
